Yep it works now, thanks!

Currently downloading on the public branch (didn't even have to switch to beta this time).

I should probably switch to beta, shouldnt I?

You must switch it to the beta branch, the default one (NONE) doesn't have any client binaries.

The game even in beta branch is missing the executable.

I imagine because the Linux depot is not added into the beta package: https://steamdb.info/sub/30555/depots/

Insurgency Beta is a separate app. It's just the normal "Insurgency" game but you right click -> Properties -> Betas and opt into the beta version there.

EDIT: If you're still having this problem, I've amended the packages to include the Linux depot.

It runs now (on beta, of course). It looks a bit broken for now, though. Problems I encountered so far (compared to the Windows version run with Wine, where none of these issues occured):

- no music at all (both in menu and in game), the sound is glitchy: crackling sound of the operator saying orders in the beginning of the round (sound and music sliders were set to 0 by default, but moving them didnt help at all) fixable by using LC_ALL=C %command% and enforcing the basic English locale that way
- resolution of the menu is weird, I use 1280x1024 and menu scales to a very small size, same thing for the UI
- some parts of menu are unclickable to me, for example I wasnt able to click 'apply' when did some changes in the video settings submenu
- black screen in game (only objective markers visible), when actually deployed to the map (fixable by changing some graphics option?); you can only see what is happening on the map when you pop the ESC menu fixable by using LC_ALL=C %command% and enforcing the basic English locale that way

Basic configuration information: Debian 8 (Jessie) 64-bit, i5-4460, 8 GB RAM, Geforce GTX 660

I hope we will able to eliminate these issues Smile

I will be available later since I have to go to work now. Dont hestitate to ask me questions and/or add me on Steam to talk about these issues.

EDIT: updated the post, see bold text

The game is running very smoothly for me:

Here's my settings:

GPU is a 1 GB ASUS GTX 560 TI with NVIDIA Proprietary drivers version 355.11

I'm not experiencing any sound issues.

Keep in mind that I've only played for a few minutes on an empty map, but so far everything seems to be working. I'll keep looking for issues and post them here if I find any.

It's also fine for me, performs really well on high settings, music is fine, menu looks fine.

The game starts up and I can go trough the menu/settings. However, that's all good I can say at this point.

- Audio is completely distorted
- No Music
- Ingame everything is just black, I can only see the mission objectives. When I open up the menu I can see what's up in the game.
- When I set all options to low/off in advanced settings, everything went black, even the menu. The only solution is to delete the video.txt in the cfg folder.

OS: Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela
CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: GeForce GTX 970 (355.11)
RAM: 16 GB

What hardware and graphics drivers do you have? And what distro are you on?

I just played 15 minutes on the map Revolt with 1 other player against bots and I've noticed absolutely no issues. I'll try on other maps.

Do you have lib32-nvidia-utils and lib32-alsa-plugins installed? (Not sure how those packages are called on Mint)

Yes, I have. I have all needed libraries installed, I can even run the game without the steam runtime.

Any errors when you run the game in a terminal?

A user on Reddit mentioned that he fixed the same issues you've had by deleting this file:

steamapps/common/insurgency2/insurgency/cfg/video.txt

Maybe it helps you as well.

edit: this only fixed the visual issues, my bad.
