ins_foliage is a point entity, used to block the line of sight of bots. Mainly bushes, reeds and other high dense foliage should be using this entity, to prevent bots from seeing through these objects.

Trees should not be using ins_foliage, but only have their high dense parts covered in a Block LOS func_brush.

aah, my bad.. The fade parameter for Hammer, will be added in the upcoming update. Though if you set already the fade distance before switching it to ins_foliage, it will still fade ingame.

Pretty sure you can turn off smart edit, then manually add in the parameter/values if what Xanthi said doesn't work.

A few questions:

How does prop_foliage block the line of sight?
Does it simply check if the player is inside the bounding box of the entity,
or does it take the geometry of the prop into consideration as well?

Is it possible to, instead of having to place block LOS brushes in Hammer,
model the parts that need to be blocked in a 3d app, apply the block LOS tool texture and achieve the same result?
